Heute Abend: Lola Blau
Musical für eine Schauspielerin
von Georg Kreisler
Lola is a young woman with the sole intention of singing, dancing and entertaining her audience. Unfortunately she grows up in a time and place, Vienna 1938, in which people are putting obstacles in her way because of her Jewish heritage.
Her way of dealing with the highs and lows of her life and which wisdoms she procures from them is embodied by Soprano Wiebke Huhs from Stuttgart in an enthralling and actualized version directed by Lars Franke.
Wiebke Huhs (Lola Blau), born 1979 in Stuttgart, Germany, is an all-around singer, at home in many musical genres. She absolved her studies in oratorio as well as concert and opera singing in the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre with Prof. Ingrid Kremling. She already amassed stage experience with major opera parts, for example "Agrippina" in Handels eponymous opera in Vienna, "Fiordiligi" in Cosi fan tutte in the Theatre Schwetzingen, "Poppea" in L'Incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi in Montenegro, "Susanna" in Le Nozze di Figaro, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel and "Elisetta" in Il Matrimonio segreto. Yet she is also open towards modern music and musicals; she sang the premiere of Das goldene Kalb in Rheinsberg and appeared in the rock-opera Feen by Silvester Ianniello. Furthermore her vivid concert activities, especially concerning oratorios, took her across most of Europe. This brought her to work with Helmuth Rilling, Ton Koopman, Stefan Weiler and Bernhard Klebel, and she also regularly sings as a soloist in the Hamburger Michel (St. Michael's Church) and the Ulm Münster. Wiebke Huhs works as a freelance soloist, coach and choir director.

In October 2009 Lars Franke produced La Fantesca by Adolf Hasse at the Historisches Stadttheater Weißenhorn, and also in 2009 he was responsible for the rehearsals of Al gran sole carico d'amore by Luigi Nono under the direction of Peter Konwitschny at the Leipzig Opera.
